Preserving culture is a key to our national development program me. Strengthening our culture, the arts, music, dance, architecture, literature and the crafts will secure creative human endeavor and pave the way for a robust economy. Culture is a major contributor to employment, exports, tourism and holistic development of the nation. It will ensure that every citizen with creative skills has an equal share in nation building.
Recognizing the need to introduce innovative patterns of cultural funding in India, the National Culture Fund was set up.
