Project Description

The Brihadeshwara Temple is a UNESCO world heritage site, constructed in the 11th century, is an example of stunning South Indian temple architecture. The illumination of the main temple having a height of about 205 ft has been completed. The gates and associated monuments have also been illuminated. The entire temple campus having an area of around 44 acres has been illuminated. The façade illumination of the main temple is completed on 07.03.2021.
The surrounding facilities have been upgraded to create an ambience worthy of the grandeur of this ancient marvel with lighting, signage and facilities for devotees and visitors. The lighting of the monument is designed to enhance the natural color of the stone along with the sculptural forms adorning all corners of the temple.
Illumination of the entire temple complex and associated structures done by IOF.
Completed on 07.03.2021 and Handed over to ASI on 07.10.2021.
